It features many antioxidant powerhouses, including cloves, the number one dietary source of polyphenols (the most common type of antioxidant). And yes, you can eat cloves! Directions

  1. Pre soak the almonds at least 8 hours in advance of preparation. To remove the skins after soaking, pour boiling water over the almonds and wait 45 seconds. Pour off the water and pinch the almonds, the skins will slide off.
  2. Place the cloves in a small saucepan with about 1 cup of water. Bring to the boil, reduce the heat, and simmer for 30 minutes or until the cloves are soft.
  3. Remove the cloves, saving the water.
  4. Melt the coconut oil to make 1 tablespoon of oil.
  5. Put the peeled almonds into a food processor with the coconut oil and most of the clove water. Begin blending, adding just enough clove water to achieve a smooth, creamy consistency.
  6. Finely chop the cacao.
  7. Roughly tear the mint leaves.
  8. Pour a layer of the almond cream into a bowl.
  9. Slice the plums and arrange them on top of the almond cream. Top with the berries, mint, cacao, and cloves. A true breakfast FEAST!
